Few questions about price and such from a young buyer

Hey all;

I'm new here, and to sum me up I just finished one college degree and am working on another, I've been driving a junker since high school, and was hoping to get a 2010 Camaro as my first new car.

Basically I have a few questions: I know you have been able to order the Camaros since October of last year, and I was wondering basically when the deadline is, or when they are going to stop taking orders if it has not already passed.

And I was also wondering if they require a down payment when you place an order. I will easily be able to afford the monthly payment on one, but the saving some cash for a down payment will delay me me ordering one further =\

Thanks in advance!

Since production has begun you are no longer locked in to preorder pricing but I'm sure dealers would be happy to accept your order. Virtually all dealers require you to put some money down when ordering (this is up to the individual dealer).

I also am a college student planning on buying a new camaro. I don't plan on buying one until august or September though. (waiting for lease to end and saving up for my down payment) Who thinks they will have plenty on the lots by august?

This'll depend wholly on quickly GM can crank them out. I think we'll have some better information later this month or next since the Camaro just went into production. There's a thread on production numbers in the general section.
On the low end of expectations, Camaros on lots might still be scarce and marked up by August. More optimistic expectations seem to suggest some dealers might have a decent amount of inventory by then.

Yea, I'm thinking they will have a moderate amount on the lots by then.

I'm guessing there won't be alot on the lot in August, which is a good thing, hot ticket! But it would suck for those waiting. I would have washed my Camaro a hundred times by then.

I doubt the camaros are going to be marked up when they are available on the lots with this economy... if they are, the dealers are very stupid and no one is going to buy them
