Advice needed

Mods-I know this is probably NOT the correct forum , but I'm hoping to get opinions...

What would y'all do? I just got back from a body shop where I got an estimate on a full repair of my front fascia, I have a few scratches on the sides, paint ships on the wells, etc, nothing catastrophic. They told me the entire fascia would have to be removed, repaired and repainted, which I'm fine with, and they've done work for me before but insurance covered it.

Their estimate was $854.77, then I'd have to pay for a rental car for a few days, so I'm thinking it'll total around $1000.00 or so. BUT the fascia will be like it came off the showroom.
I did order a can of touch-up spray paint and primer, but am not very confident that I'll do the professional job I know they'll do. Now on the OTHER hand, since she's a daily driver, I'm not gonna be naive and assume It won't just get scratched up AGAIN over the next year or so and I'll have to repeat the whole thing and spend another $1000.00. I just have this obsession for keeping her as pristine as possible for as long as possible.

You can get a new front fascia for $200-300 and have it painted for $200 at the dealer.

BTW, some scratches can be buffed out and look really good. Used a superfine cut compound from 3M and came out great...Followed up with polishing compound.

Post some pics.

I would try it myself without taking it off the car - just masking everything else really well. If it doesn't end up looking good enough then you have only lost a little time - you already bought the paint.

When I still owned my rally yellow SS, I bought some primer, touch up paint, and sealer. The yellow was a perfect match...until it dried. It was a noticeably darker yellow after trying. Plus, the sealant was quite hard to apply and dried bumpy. (And yes, I had the right code for the color.) So, be warned if you do it yourself! Good luck.

After you have it painted invest in Clearshield Clear Bra to avoid the pesky scratches and nicks.

Dude that body shop must have solid gold sprayguns with attitude to match! That price is BS! When I found my 2010 CGM 2SS/RS 6M LS3 sitting on a lot with only 3368 miles on it it did have a couple lil chips and what not on the front fascia. Dealer sent to a local body shop they use and it was a total of $288.00 to remove, prep, reprime and repaint. It looks perfect like off the showroom floor. Dealer paid the repair but I did see the invoice. Find a more reasonable paint shop IMHO.
