Detailed the car this weekend

I posted this originally over on adamspolishes forums, but thought I would post here too since it was my first time detailing my car.

I have been busy with the car and work. As far as needing something, yes please send pain reliever!!!! I spent this past weekend detailing the car.

Started out with the two bucket wash (which got rid of my original issue of water spots), moved into a claying of the car, then another two bucket wash. This was then followed up by a once over of FMP (Fine Machine Polish) and then another once over with MSW (Machine Super Wax).

Car is popping!!!!!! However I am sore as hell and very tired. I will try to get a pic or two up.

A couple of things learned:
*You can never have enough detail spray.
*Half a clay bar is plenty.
*The Porter Cable is sweet and one should not be afraid of it (I originally was)
*I LOVE Adam's products.

Cheers

I definitely feel your pain, literally. At least the Camaro is a relatively small vehicle. I did an Acura MDX today. I hate SUVs. That is all.

I too clayed the car this weekend.... Was a pain with the heat, but absolutely worth it. Paint looks brand new!

Question on the PC, how much clear does it take off each time? I'd like to get one and buff everything out (I have a few swirls) sometime later this year, but I'd rather wait until it gets REALLY bad if you can only polish your car so many times.

if you maintain the paint correctly, you will only need to do an aggressive polish correction once in the lifetime of the car and the routine maintenance will be with a finishing polish that you could do hundreds of times before you would take off all your clear...

I need to do the wash, clay, polish, and wax on my extended cab Silverado. Not looking forward to that job LOL!! It will probably take 3 days.

No dont wait, fix it now as it will be much easier. I have had my car since May 26th and due to water spots from sprinklers at work ended up going to "an extreme" with the PC kit. After doing a two bucket wash the spot were gone. Anyway I had already decided to proceed, since my paint was pretty pristine I was able to skip the more aggressive Swirl and Haze remover after claying.

Hence the moral of the story is dont wait, correct now and it will be much much easier.

Cheers
