Clutch went out with 3,300 on my LS?!

So Im not sure if this is the right place to post this, Im just super upset, I just got my car a few weeks ago and only drove it twice, super low miles! (3,300) it's a 2010 LS and I took it to the dealership and the CLUTCH went out?! how is this possible? somebody said on another thread that the V6 Clutches are crap? is this true? if so will an after market one be any different? or is it a transmission issue that's making the clutch go out so fast? I really don't understand this at all, btw the dealership said it's not covered because it's a wear item

Or did constant smoke shows. You can probably have the dealer fix it with that kind of mileage if you put up a big enough stink.

I'd argue with the dealership. Find out what's their return policy is... Only a few weeks, you might be able to return the car. It's Fu**ed up that they won't fix it. I'd never go back to them again.

I didn't buy it from the dealership, It was a personal owner and they said the car itself is under warranty but the clutch is a "wear" item

I am not an expert on this, but I have some experience with an older Ford that was under warranty at the time.

Although the 100k powertrain warranty specifically excludes the clutch, it should still be covered under the 3/36k bumper-to-bumper warranty, UNLESS they find it was caused by abuse.

From the Chevy warranty page:

Covered for 3 years/36,000 miles*Chevrolet backs your new vehicle with its no-deductible, Bumper-to-Bumper New Vehicle Limited Warranty. The entire vehicle is warranted for repairs, including parts and labor, to correct problems in materials or workmanship, for three years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first (except normal maintenance). The warranty covers towing to the nearest Chevrolet dealership, and there is no deductible for warranty repairs during the warranty period. The warranty transfers automatically with vehicle ownership during the warranty period.
But you should consult another dealership if the first one isn't cooperating.

I doubt that a clutch at 3300 miles counts as "normal maintenance"

I have a 2011 LS MT with over 10,000 miles on it and have had no problems with the clutch. I would have to agree with the others before me that the previous driver may have had a bit of fun with the car before selling it to you.
