Help me identify type of bee/wasp (texas)

Been noticing these hills near my bushes on the mulch...at first I thought they were ant hills, but they were not.

I used a hose to break them down and notice there was some sort of big fat bee/wasp? that was living in it and flew away. They don't seem to be hostile.
After I break down these mounds, they seem to rebuild them in 2 days.

Best way I can describe the insect is a big fat looking type bee..orange colored looking limbs and a yellow butt.

Anyone know what these are? Seem to have trouble identifying them on google.

Get some Seven powder or granules and sprinkle some down the holes and you won't have to identify them, unless you want to notify the next of kin.

if it looks like this it's a bumblebee. They live in the ground in coloneys of around 50.

Are there more and more of these mounds every time you look around? Do they seem to be singing an irresistible song that only you can here? What does your personal analyst say about it?

Yep, that's what you have. The ones in the most recent picture are what I have burrowing in my yard. Those things are massive and it take 1/2 bottle of wasp killer to take them out. Satan spawns is what I call them and it sounds like a mini c-130 hovering around you when those suckers get close.

Do they have markings on their thorax that move the more superstitious to call them "niņos de la tierra"?
