Handling THE HEAT!!

Record temps this summer, what are y'all doing to keep your babies cool? I park in a parking deck, but so does EVERYBODY ELSE and I cringe when I think of door dings...Seems like my MPG is going down as well...I guess because of the temps???

AC will kill your MPG around town.

I park my LS in a shaded part of the driveway with foil windshield shade and windows cracked about an inch. No problems keeping it cool.

It's been 100F+ every day since I've bought the car....I got a nice big foil window shade...it helps alot. Beyond that, well, when it's 104F every day I don't what you're gonna do other than leave your shiny black Camaro home in the garage.

Coolish summer here in Spokane, WA but at work, I park in the shade most of the afternoon, and inside the shop building at home. I installed a Roto-Fab CAI so my Camaro can get as much fresh air as possible.

Tomorrow will be the first time in about a week and a half that I take it out of the garage. I wanted to wait a little longer, but I my self control is almost gone.

'Cmon, it's not that hot. You haven't seen hot till you have spent a summer in Phoenix. I use a window shade for the front window, but put it on the outside, and close the doors on the edges. Stays there even in wind. Having it on the outside keeps the heat out completely, not just reflecting it back into the front window, which I have been told can delaminate the window. We do that on our aircraft at the field. Works much better than putting them on the inside.

A/C? Bah. it was only 106 when I left work yesterday.
Today it's cooler, a mere 91 when I left home this morning.

From April to October the temperature is consistently at 100 or greater her in Phoenix. I've never found that running my AC affects my mileage over the years; my Camaro gets about 18 MPG and my DD is running at 41.9. The only two things I've noticed over the years is that the heat will kill your battery with in 2 years and dry rot tires with 5.
