Opening is small, but the size is pretty big. Check posts by HeatherR. She posted some packed trunk photos.

We were able to get 2 sets of golf clubs and all our luggage for our trip to California over Christamas.

Number 3 gave a very good description, and if you do look or the pics I took we had 2 fullsize rolly suitcases next to each other in there, and then the stuff you see in the pic on top.

In the pics I've seen, it looks really tight. Seems like there is a lot of wasted space, at least the opening seems like it could have been bigger. But the GTO has trained me to live with a small trunk. I miss the practical hatchback design of the 4th gens.

Since the back seats probably won't really be usable, you can always put a suitcase or two back there.

I looked at it, and i think it's bigger than the opening on my cobalt, altho, widthwise it may be a bit smaller.

they fold down as well, so you can put larger things in the trunk.

THe 4th gen hatch was ok,
the 3rd gen was harsh. My supports wore out and it was seriously heavy with all that glass.
Not to mention the 24pack of coke (good 'ole sugar syrupy coke) that all but exploded from the heat because I left it there as it wasn't supposed to be a bright sunny day.

Sounds good! One thing though. Was that just the trunk you used, or are you also referring to the space included with the rear seat folded down (the pass-through)?

So, then it's a little over a full cubic foot smaller than the trunk of an '09 Aveo (12.4)? I know Heather posted some photos, but that seems on the tiny side.
