The most effective way to get the RS look is to take out the tail lights, use a dremmel to cut off the red lens, and then paint the chrome housing black. That is how the RS lights get their look. Then just use some silicone and seal the lenses back to the light assembly.

GM part direct OEM RS tail lights and swap them out. That's what I did.

I got lucky, my dad liked my non RS lights and we swapped for free. You could try that route, or you could go to gm parts direct I think it is and buy them, I remember being a bit surprised at how inexpensive they are. I think it was around $130-$150 for all 4, but I could be mistaken.

More expensive than I thought... Looks like $273 shipped from GM Parts direct for all four... They list for $90.06 each.

I've seen a lot of people use Nightshades spray tint on taillights. The more coats the darker, could be an option. I've never used the stuff: http://www.amazon.com/VHT-Shades-Cov...uct/B00290CBGA

I used this a lot when i lived back in miami because I had a friend who owned a body shop who would clear coat them really cheap for me. The vht stuff works well but you need to apply a clear coat after to get them to really shine and look good.

Just get some tint from Bigwormmotorsports.com, they are easy to apply and look great. You can see the tailights just fine when the lights are are on or brake is applied. They have 4 different darknesses, I got gun smoke (12 percent), in the sunlight you can see a slight shade of red coming thru when the lights are off, if you want more red showing, you can get what they just call 'tint' (6 percent), and if you want them darker, there are choices for that as well. All for about $35, and if you happen to mess one up they will send you just one for like $8. My first one kinda had a big bubble, I thought it was screwed up and ordered a replacement, then I stuck a hole in the bubble with a pin, smoothed it out and never needed the extra one. after you get the first 2 on, the nerves settle down and its a piece of cake.
