Hurst Off Constraint?????

I JUST spoke to my dealer who has told me again (2nd day in a row) that the shifter is or will be off constraint next week. Anyone can confirm this?

sry, I don't believe it. I would think we would have heard word of a new code for it if it was going to be off constraint so soon. Would sure be nice though if it was. I'd like to add it back into my order

Incorrect. This is off the direct copy of the national constraint list:

"VYV Discontinued as an LPO. However, it will be available in the future as both a factory installed RPO, and a regular dealer installed accessory. "

That, I believe 100%. I got my TPW last week, it's Apr 13-19, and it shows the shifter still being on constraint for that weekalong with CGM paint and the wing spoiler. I seriously doubt it would become available between now and then and go back on constraint. That would really suck.

Well he knows to delete it, and he said GM contacted him before picking up his first 3 orders (I'm in the next 3), so that will give him the opportunity to remove it if need be. Weird....

Kinda new to all this. Do you have to delete the shifter from your order in order for them to build the car? Or if you ordered it will they build without it now, and just remove it themselves leaving you to order it as dealer installed at a later date??

You either have to delete it in order to get the car sooner. (provided that your dealer has a current allocation) or leave it in and be willing to wait until the constraint is lifted.

Call me crazy, but I like that in a car."

I hope no one hates me for this but I kinda want to see the Hurst stay on constraint. My dealer told me yesterday that only one in front of me and he wants the Hurst short throw and doesn't want to drop it from his order. I have a 2LT/RS ordered and it's the first V6 at this dealer. Hopefully I will hear something soon.

If I were you, I would drop it off your order now. JMVHO.

I don't think that is going to be a problem. I expect that it will be a while.

GM is in process of moving the shifter from accessories division to production line installation which is the cause for the delay i'm hearing.

You know, it's kinda strange to me that there is even a problem with the Hurst at all, considering it was a factory option on the last Camaro. You'd think GM would kinda have this whole situation together already considered they've dealt with it before. They should have known the Hurst would be a popular option and to just go ahead and offer it as an RPO like last time. Go figure...

Ok so consideirng that it is sill on constraint and my car likely will be built without it. Is Hurst themselves selling this shifter in the aftermarket yet or soon? Kind of like how the factory 4thgen Hurst was available as the Billett Plus.
