2011 1SS M6
If you have seen my other post, you would know that I had Kooks LT headers, high flow cats, 160 degree thermostat, and NGK TR55 spark plugs installed yesterday. I also had it dyno tuned. It seemed fine driving home yesterday and this morning. It wasn't until after I ran it all the way through 1st and 2nd that the idle started acting up. Basically it sounds like it is going to stall and the RPMs jump between 200-800. The check engine light also came on, so I scanned it and got these two codes. P1133 and P1153 They seem to point to the front O2 sensors, which obviously don't exist anymore. Plus I don't see why the lack of O2 sensors would mess up the idle. A few weeks ago I had solo high flow cats installed. Because of a stripped O2 sensor, I ended up driving the car for several days until I could get a replacement. That didn't cause any issues other than the check engine light staying on. Just to avoid confusion, I replaced the solo cats with the kooks high flow cats. Just stating the above as an example of driving the car with a missing O2 sensor. So what do you think could be causing the problem? Could it have anything to do with the spark plugs or is the PCM causing the problem because it doesn't see the front O2 sensors and they were not properly deleted during the tune? |

Take it back to the tuner and have them check it! If you haven't done any other mods since then they should do it for free! My shop does them for free after the first time, you just have to pay for dyne time!
Did they street tune it also, or just put it on the dyno?

I plan on taking it back, I just wanted to try and get an idea of what the problem might be. |

![]() First Put the Stock Plugs Back in, They work best in your car. You CAN NOT delete the front O2 sensor they are used for monitoring and fine Tuning of your engine. 1133 and 1153 come on for Front O2 sensor in activity, so I suspect your front O2s are in place but the Long tube headers and no cats are causing these codes, these codes must be turned off for LT headers, Your Tuner should know this. You Can However Delete the Rear O2s since they only monitor cats and have no affect on the tuning, and all codes for Rear O2s, about 20, need to be turned off. Ted.

I didn't ask for the spark plugs. They just did them and said they are better.

Also, my mistake about the lack of front O2 sensors. I thought I read that somewhere and I couldn't see them when I was on the ground under the car. I used my camera and then I saw them. I spoke with the shop and he is pretty sure it is just a bad connection with the front O2's. He has seen issues with the extenders that are provided with the cats. I should be bringing it in on Monday and once it is fixed he just needs to remap the fuel trims, or whatever it is called. This shop does have a very good reputation and has built some record breaking cars. Here is just some of the cars they did. http://www.cartek.net/CustomerRides/...rRidesMain.htm They don't seem like they maintain much of a website. But just being in the shop and seeing how many high horsepower vettes are in there plus probably an additional 20 LS1 Camaros. |

TR-55's are just fine. To think they suck over factory is just plain wrong.
The codes were just misssed when tuning. The idle could very well be the tuning itself. Hard to say without scanning the car in person but it should idle like it did before if not better. |

It's definitely not the tune, otherwise it would have showed up sooner. It was fine until I hammered it through a couple of gears. I'm sure it is just with the front O2 sensors causing the problem. With my luck it only makes sense. Had the Solo cats put on, and both rear O2s were stripped. Now the two front ones are having a problem. I'll find out Monday.
I've heard when it comes to LS motors, Cartek is one of the best in the country. Don't know if it is right, and I didn't hear it from Cartek. But their customers are loyal and keep going back. Doesn't seem like they need to advertise much to bring in clients. And A LOT of Vette owners go to them. Then again, they are located in one of the richest counties in the US. |

Yeah, I have already pissed away at least $800 in solo cats and installation just to change it out three weeks later. Hopefully I can at least get some money back by selling the Solos.
