Started with the Trans tuning....

And wow! It feels much better! Whats screwy is how GM is already commanding a 6000 rpm wot shift, but speed qualifiers must be met also, so I was able to bump up the mph in each gear to get my target shift point.

I removed all tq mgt, and bumped the shift pressures up by 5% at first, then another 3%. 0'd out all the sift times, and it feels 1000 times better. Crisp shifts that firm up progressively with throttle input and wot shifts that are instant! I am still running the dealer's 87 octane out and will put a few tanks of premium through before moving on to the engine.

I have my shifts at about 6100 rpm (6000 commanded but tweaked the mph qualifiers). It pulls very good up to that rpm, even on 87 octane.

On the log, you can see why the L99's are sluggish with 87, very low timing and still getting KR! On this log it ran 0-60 in approx 4.9 to 5.0.
0-100 took about 11.7 to 11.8 sec. It's even pulling about 4* of timing from the low octane table PLUS its pulling some timing due to the high IAT's on this wonderful summer day!

Some good gas, and engine tuning and this thing will feel totally different!!

I'm trying to decide between efi live and hp tuners. Right now the tuner that tuned my car used efi live. He can't get the m mode and d mode to act right. In d mode the shifting is most agressive. In m mode, its very tame. It should be swapped around. I dunno if its a problem with efi live or something he hasn't dealt with yet.

Its not efilive. Pressure pattern A is "d" on the shifter and Pressure pattern B is "M".

I think they are both great tuners. I have been using EFIlive for many years. Software updates for life. Good luck on what ever you chose. Both will be a learning curve. The LS3/L99 are a lot different than my LS1 was so I am also in a learning mode.

Well I've put some miles on the tune and am going to firm up the 1-2 at part throttle about another 2-3% and may slightly bump the others by about 1-2% Also, by bumping the base pressure tables, the tap shift feels much better as well.

On efi and hp, I looked into both about 5 or 6 years ago, I preferred the layout of EFILive and the option to go with custom operating systems and segement swaps (4l60 to 4l80) at no additional charge. I know HP covers some other brands, but I have no interest in tuning anything but GM product so EFI got my business. After about 80 vehicles done, I love the software better and better each time, they have awesome support and a fantastic product.

I would highly recommend you put your shift times back pretty close to stock. The 6L80 trans is not like the 4L60E and you will wear out your clutches in a very short time if you zero out your shift times.

Welcome Patrick to C5. I use to spend a lot of time on your site LS1tech.com. Great site. This is also a great site if you own a 2010+ Camaro.
