Will axle back exhaust fix common exhaust rattle? - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

OK ill try to make a long story short. I have new axle back exhaust arriving on Wednesday. Today on the way into work I heard a rattle in the exhaust. Reading old post here I have realized I believe that it is a loose baffle in the exhaust system. Everyone else has described the noise i'm getting in mine to a T.

The question is will replacing the axle back solve this issue or is it in more than just the muffler. Should I have GM replace the exhaust system before I make any mods (I am still under warranty) or will I be fine once I eliminate the mufflers? Please advise

I developed the exact problem you stated. Started at about 15,000 miles. Resonation sounding noise - annoying as hell.

Anyway, I purchased a Borla S-Type Axle Back Exhaust and "poof be gone" - no more rattle, vibration, resonation - just a beastly growl - the way a V8 should sound.

If the exhaust is hitting the tunnel brace it will probably still be there with the new exhaust. I put some thick washers in between the brace and the car and the noise is gone.
