$12-1800? Hmm.

I pay $126 a year. Just liability not full coverage. I currently own a 2006 GSX-R 600 and this is my 2nd bike. I haven't own a bike for more then 2 years, due to my deployments. I sold my 1st bike after having it for about a year and insurance was $162 a year and yes I had liability for that too. My 1st bike I used Gieco, 2nd I use Farmer's Bureau.

Check with Allstate, join a motorcycle club that they endorse and take a motorcycle safety course. That should be a dramatic difference in the rate.

MTNdew you are 22 with no street riding experience. You are high risk, that motorcycle is high risk. Your premiums reflect that. Start out with a used bike.
I been riding the street for 40 years, ride a 13 year old BMW, $500/yr full coverage, one million liability.

State Farm is the cheapest in Texas, well at least for sport bikes. Might check for a local motorcycle forum, and see about who in your state is cheaper

Go check with a. Company called American Modern! That's who I go through and full coverage on my sport touring bike is $33 a month!

Also do you have motorcycle licence? That really helps! I didn't at first and premimums were alot higher!

As mentioned, it's your age and experience.
I have a two year old Harley Electraglide Classic that I bought new.
Been riding for 44 years. My insurance is $650 a year for full coverage, with fire, theft, comprehensive and $500 ded. collision.
No advice other then get some experience and get older with no mishaps, probably the only way you'll get insurance cheaper.

I ride a Ducati 996, full coverage, $1000 deduct its like $300 something per YEAR. Never paid more than $400 per year first time rider, sport bike, age 25. Those so called motorcycle insurance places are the worst ever!

I go state farm; car, house, and bike. And that motorcycle is NOT a high risk bike.

Listen to the advice (driving school, etc.), but be careful taking everyone's quotes to heart. We move a lot and my husband's insurance costs vary greatly depending on what state we're living in. Get a bunch of quotes and more important experience.

In my experience, rates do vary greatly by provider. But the more expensive the bike the more your insurance will be. if you buy yourself a used bike for 3k, you can probably cut that rate in half. If you remove collision insurance (only liability+comprehensive) Your rates should be closer to $200-400/yr.

But as others have stated, take a motorcycle safety course. I believe most insurance companies give a discount if you take one of those courses.

Well I did hear that the safty coarse did save money which I included that in my quotes and it only save me around 50$ a year on the three providers I've talked to. I understand being 22 is high risk but damn...it sucks being young sometimes lol

Pay 455 a yr Full coverage,99 Harley Springer new in 99 was 650. M/C safety class will drop you 10% and a group rider will drop you another 10%. Highly recomend you get "Uninsured Motorist"..hate to loose a leg or something and not have recourse cause the POS that hit you and Ran was not insured,no license, and not a legal resident in the USA. Know a few Brother that are screwed in this boat. If this is your 1st street bike..You Will Crash it, been there done that and so has everyone else I rode/ride with...get you a used bike to learn on. We (Nevada) just lost a 27yr old lady on a Brand New Harley with a learners permit on a 4 lane highway, hit the center guard rail 2weeks ago.
