Thought For An Interesting Mod

Has anybody thought about eliminating the gill-slots (completely cutting them out) and replacing with a tightly woven wire mesh of a complimentary color? If it has been done, I'd like to see a pic of it. If not, can one of the Photoshop gurus play around with it?

I have seen camaros that have had the gills replaced with working vents

i like to get rid of my gills and just put a huge gaping slit there and some thin wire mess behind it to prevent rocks and crap flying into it my 2 cents

like bumblebee from the movie he has a slot there i think it makes it look more like a jet fighter

but on the cheap end of things i will be cromeing mine out some day

Could you do like 2 layers of wire mesh? One open and a little thicker with bigger openings on the outside in a painted color of your choice (a little easier on the eyes) and then get some fine wire mesh for the inside layer, which will almost be invisible to the eye, but will protect from rocks etc?

Say like using this site, a 5 x 5 mesh on the outside or maybe 4 x 4 and then something like a 20 x 20 or 30 x 30 mesh underneath that layer to do the dirty work.

Just a thought here, would this look good? work?
