Lightbulb Fog Light Halos

https://www.urban-neon-car-lights.co...r-7-color.html

This site has halo fog lights thought they were pretty cool, but i would not put them on my car. Maybe this could be of some help to someone.

How bright would those be? Would they better serve as fog lights than the stock bulbs. They might be cool, but they aren't right for everyone.

from looking at it im guessing the middle part (circled in red) will work as normal fog lamps, but the halos are around it (similar to the headlights of the 5th gen)

That's interesting that you can purchase the different colored halo rings. I'm guessing the lights come with some kind of disclaimer saying to check with local laws before operating them on-road as they can be illegal if certain colors are "visible" from the front of the vehicle.

"For off road use only" is the typical disclaimer that's not shown anywhere on that site. Interesting.

I would expect the same disclaimer. It must be on the packaging or in the paperwork. There is no law requiring the limitation of lighting, so it would be illegal to shut down a company that merely implies that such lighting should be used on cars when it is possible to use them elsewhere. Additionally, the courts usually rule that ignorance of the law does not excuse illegal behavior, so this company may not have to indicate whether such lights are legal.

I agree, just like you can buy strobe lights and sirens for your car if you really want. The product isn't what's illegal, it's the intended use that is.

I just find it interesting that the site says SAE/DOT compliant.

Since we know the 'fog lights' on the RS Package are actually DRL's, I wonder if it would be possible to hook these up with the halo being the DRL and the center bulb serving as an actual fog light...

Get it wired so the halo has the DRL all the time and the center fog light has a seperate switch?

Just the slightest brightness difference or color off-shade would really make this look bad
