The ultimate question - How much to sink into a FBody

So, I love my 2002 Camaro Z28. I had a 98 as a teen, and at 32 I just picked up a very nice 2002 version. At this point in my life I have a fair amount of coin to potentially sink into turning this car into a supercar. All in all I'd be happy to sink $25k-$30k into it, and I think it would become a truly amazing car.

Before I start on this process, does anyone here know any reason why I should NOT do this? As far as I know the FBody is a great car, and know of no reason to not proceed, however considering the $ I'd rather solicit some feedback first .

Thanks!

Internals -
LS3
Supercharger
Suspension
Breaks
Headers
Cam
Forged Internals
Driveshaft
etc

Exterior -
HID/Halo lights
Dark Tungsten/Gunmetal Metallic paint
Functional hood replacement to aid in cold air induction

Interior -
Replace seats
Investigate HUD
Simple stereo (not more than $2k, no sub)
Gauge update
Illiuminated door sills
Anything else that looks nice, elegant, and not over the top (rice101)

Ultimate goal is a fierce performer with over 600hp to the rear and excels at track Time Attacks while remaining street legal.

I'm doing this for the enjoyment of it, and have no intention of selling.

Headers + Cam = Not street legal.

Which is more important to you? Welcome to the forums! This should be a great build.

Good luck with it. =)

And that is why I am enlisting a good shop to assist with this project. I'm learning at a geometric rate, however I'm still very new to modding and have a long way to go.

I'll probably be moving forward with this once I get a break from travelling at the end of this month. Going to start with performance and leave the rest for after. I will be sure to setup a build thread to show progress

Zabo - saw the thread and feeling for ya man. It's all worth it in the end.

Toesuf - if I ever lose to a pinto...

shouldnt be too hard. finding/building the engine and trans will be the biggest part.

Which shop are you having build it? Being in the bay area myself, I always like hearing experiences with local shops.

I'm going to do a tour of three shops and decide when I have met everyone.

The contenders are...

Blu808
Synergy
GDPerformance

Sad thing is since I bought the car I've been travelling so much I haven't had much time in the seat, and the past week it was in transit to CA from IL. It finally arrived and they sent me a pic of it there. Was like falling in love all over again, I gotta do the work on this car~ Can't wait to get back in town tomorrow and drive. First stop, Lake Tahoe.
