Front tire sizes
Im getting ready to order some front tires for my new wheels and i see that a lot of guys are running a 275x40x20 in the front. My wheels are 9.5 in the front and my question is there a big differance between that and a 275x35x20, or is there a upside to getting the 40 vs the 35 series? I got the rears in a 315x35x20 and i figured i was just gonna match the sidewall in the front and the rear. Oh and the tires are the nitto invos.

275/35R20 is way too short for your car. You can't only go off of the "35" because that number, which is referred to as the aspect ratio, is directly related to the first number which is the tire width. A 275/35R20 is 27.6" tall whereas the 275/40R20 is 28.7 tall. The rear tires are 28.7" as well so you can see why the 40 series is the better choice.
I have 275/40R20 Invo's on the shelf if you need them, let me know. |
