Help installing car stereo

Hey Camaro guru's. I know this is a very broad question, and will have a broad and large answer, but just looking for a bit of guidance.

Just bought 2, 10" Infinity Subs and a good Kenwood 1000 watt Amp with a friend of mine that installs car stereo and has won a good majority of car stereo competitions.

We are looking to hook this sucker up this Sunday, but being stereo hook up illiterate figured I would bounce a few questions here ( not to mention my friend has never worked on a Camaro before ) . First off, where is the stock amp in this sucker ?, I have the 2010 SS2, and I am not sure if we would splice the amp cables or the Boston speakers for best sound. Any good guidance or tips I should know, or be aware about ?. I know this shouldn't be rocket science, but after never installing a car stereo before, was looking for some direction. I am assuming my friend will have no problems as he has been doing this for 8+ years, but again, any tips on the Camaros layout will definitely help in getting this system in without any problems. I am also going to be using the stock Camaro deck.

Thanks guys !.

you are going to need high low converters. and you will connect those to the rear deck speakers.

You dont even need a converter. I can solder on Rca's directly at the factory amp location.

Thanks. The high end Amp I have does have high low converters, so that is not an issue. So you say go through the rear speakers, and not the amp ? Do you know where the amp is located on the Camaro ?

its on the left side rear of the car. i think its like on the right side of the tail lamp.

now to be honest with you i have not done anything with the stock amp like the guy above mentioned. a lot of people on here have done systems different ways. as for me i put in a aftermarket head unit so i have my own amp rca wires.

i am not sure how you would solder on rca wires to the stock amp. not saying it can't be done just have not really looked at the amp. and the reason i said high low converters is cause that is where you will get the rca plug ins.

Thanks for the help guys. Had no problems putting in the speakers and amp, and it sounds quite good for only putting in the 10"s.

I'll throw some pics up later today. Just one more question. Me and my friend read that just using high level input can screw up the Camaro's stock deck. Is this true ?.
