Need advice from those who blacked out the rear panel of their '10 with VINYL.... - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

How did you fill the holes? I've read a bunch of threads on the blackout panel and the consensus was vinyl is better than magnetic. Today I debadged the rear, planning to drive to the vinyl sign place down the street and have them get me the piece....and I got way too invested in the badge removal before figuring out it left 2 sizable holes.

Would Matte Black vinyl be thick enough that you could go right over the holes and not notice? I REALLY don't want to have the holes professionally filled in case I decide to revert back to the original look.

u just get it filled in..
going back to the original look is simple..
u can just get a 2011 bowtie instead of the one with the holes.. and just use 3m tape..

Will it be noticeable if you just went right over them with the vinyl?

Yes it will be noticeable, you have to cover it with the bowtie or any other emblem

I bought the emblem pros letters for this! Mine look different though....I got these http://www.emblempros.com/inc/sdetail/3445/11262

I was concerned that it would still be challenging to cover it since the two holes are slightly different sizes, and one would be covered with an M and one would be an A....that I have to keep symmetrical. I planned to space it out a bit more than you did too, more like what's in the picture on Emblem Pros site.

Did yours have the holes Anwro?

Yeah mine did have holes , i installed the letters long time ago and it was the 1st mod i did , took me an hour or more with some tools , till now i like it this way looks simple and everyone likes it

Mine didn't have holes. But I put my bowtie back on. Its pretty easy to do yourslef.

So you just stuck your Bowtie right to the vinyl??

mine was not super noticeable unless you ran your fingers over the holes to make the indent. If your dead set on getting rid of the holes just fill them, you may be able to cover it with another piece of vinyl prior to going over it all with the black out.
