anyone know why the interior ( most noticeably the dash & gauges) on the 2012 camaro are the same as the 09-11 model. i was under the impression they would be redone on the 12?

Not sure what you are looking at, but it is redone.

for the last month i've checked with the local dealer and looked over the ss on the lot. 4 2012 ss convertibles & 1 ZL1 on the showroom all with last year interiors ( except for the steering wheels )?

Yeahhhhh...I doubt it. Couple possibilities...

GM's letting the dealer borrow a ZL1 prototype (Unlikely).

The dealer took an SS, threw ZL1 badges on it, and marked it up to heaven trying to fool people into thinking it's a ZL1. (Likely)

You were mistaken. (Very likely)

Now there are 2012 models on dealer lots, but if you were expecting a complete redesign, then you're going to be disappointed. All they did was enhance certain areas in response to feedback.

They are not the same as the 10-11 model. Look at the gaugues and steering wheel.

The changes are very minimal. Note the leather on the dash, the steering wheel, and the gauge fonts (cant really see this in the images):

This dealer got a website so we can see the mythical ZL1?

If anything, it's a SLP ZL-1 like Fenwick said.

That 2012 interior rendering is almost correct. It's missing the lock/unlock switches added on both doors. Also, a power passenger seat was added for 2012.

Other than making the passenger seat 6 way power adjustable, I don't think so.

(AKQ) front passenger, 6-way power seat adjuster standard on LT and SS models
