Safest Way to do a burnout with a SS M6

Never drove a manual until my camaro a few months ago. I know it's a dumb question, and most people will say, "Dont Do it, It's not worth it" ect. ect. ect. But, i want to show off sometimes, and have attempted a burnout by reving the engine and letting up off the clutch. (Traction Control OFF) and it does maybe a 10 ft burnout. I've done a longer one once about 50 ft before i backed off of it. I didn't get a camaro to "KNOW" it capable, i bought it so i can EXPERINECE it. Am i letting off the clutch to slow, or to fast? Im 32yrs old and want to have alittle fun like they did in the '70s. . I've seen an Edmunds video where they compared burnouts of a camaro, challenger, and mustang. The camaro did a 220ft burnout. Tell me how!

Lol. The Camaro winning the burnout contest was a total fail in my opinion. I just step on the gas and let Maggie do the rest

The way to do a good burnout is to balance your clutch foot and your brake together. Once your tires are spinning push your brake in and give it gas then just ease your foot off the brake. You will eat up some good rubber that away and see lots of smoke

I agree with "It's not worth it". I have bald rear P-Zeros after 2 burnouts and only 5,200 miles on the Camaro. and the burnt clutch smell until I got it right.

So do i have it right?? --Give it alittle gas while holding and slowly releasing the clutch and break. (So i don't kill the engine). Once the clutch is engaged, push the break in farther, give it more gas and slowly let off the break? Is this the safer way for the car than reving and just releasing the clutch? Just bad on the breaks and not the rear end?

Dude, it is BRAKE. You don't want to BREAK anything.

If you have a manual transmission, your method requires 3 feet....

Remove the intake manifold, install a supercharger, let out the clutch in second gear and mat the loud pedal!

Sorry, couldn't resist.

Yeah 3 feet, I was scratching my head on that one too. Gas it up, let go of the clutch and go, the brake has Nothing to do with it (M6)

Stay tuned. New rear tires coming Thursday. I intend to smoke the living daylights out of the ones I have. They are in really good shape but one has a blemish in the side wall.

If you have to ask how to do it, you shouldn't attempt it.

An M6 is though to power brake without line lock for sure, but it's all about timing. Here's me with my bone stock M6 & big heavy 22's
