How long from ordering to delivery? - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

As much as I like the looks of the Camaro I can't bring myself to order one before I drive one. So assuming dealers in Canada have them on the lots by the end of May and I order one right after the test drive,how long will it take for delivery?

I know it's only speculation but your guess will be better than mine.

Oh, don't worry. tThere will be none on the lots before May is over. Not the SS anyway. Maybe a V6 but I doubt theil be letting you drive it.

As far as waiting after you order, by the time you test drive one the pre-orders will have been filled and you should be able to get one in a couple months.

I'm guessing Sept or Oct before they have anything to test drive.

Dealership up here has sold 2 of the 3 they are getting and told me I will get the call as soon as #3 shows up. Quote from the sales manager "Everything on the lot is for sale"

My guess is the absolute earliest is end of July unless you go to a dealer who did not want to take preorders in which case he'll charge you thousands over MSRP.

After you order the car, it normally takes 4-6 weeks after the order is accepted by GM to be delivered. This time DOES NOT take into account the length of time it takes for the dealer to submit the order to GM. You may order the car shortly after test driving it but it may take several month after wards for GM to actually pull the order.

Interesting how every dealer working different angles

I visited local dealer to check when they expect to have their silver SS in stock (thanks to google camaro !) and had great chat with a very decent / straightforward salesman - and then got the call today to encourage me to preorder now in case I had to wait until February 2010..
- Pretty mindblowing.

Many of the options I want are not available yet - so I expected to order in a month or so after seeing car in the metal and then hopefully see it by the fall - but Feb 2010 sounds very overstated.

Hopefully the Camaro will help reinject much needed sales for GM - but just need straight talk all round to keep the buyers and sales network happy with each other
