Twin Turbo Installation Instructions

I have pretty much decided on buying a Twin Turbo kit. I have read every thread on this site I can find detailing the different brands available. I will be installing the kit myself. The main problem with every single vendor is that none of them have install instructions posted here or on their website. For a self-installer, a straight-forward installation with detailed instructions is a must. I'd like to be able to view them and decide if I can handle it or not. I'm the type that refuses to pay a shop to install a bolt-on part. When I tell someone what's under the hood, I want to be able to say I turned the wrenches myself. Male ego at its finest, I know, but why have hands if not to cut them up on the inside of an engine compartment?

That being said, viewing the installation instructions would give me an idea of what I'm getting myself into and help me decide which brand to buy. Many thanks to any vendors who help me out with this request!!!

Congrats on the turbo, but I wouldn't call a turbo a "bolt-on" per say. I mean yes it does just bolt on, but there is a lot more involved than just wrenching.

Thanks! I think a TT 45th Anniversary should grab some attention. It would mine!

I know calling it a "bolt-on" is an over-simplification, but I just meant that it doesn't require me to tear the engine apart or anything like that. If the job requires just "normal" tools and the engine can stay in the engine compartment, I'm pretty confident I can handle it. I would actually be more hesitant to do a simple cam install just because it involves going into the engine.

That's awesome man! I really appreciate it! I've narrowed it down to 2 vendors and GMS is one of them. PM with my email sent!

i installed my hellion kit myself too, im gonna tell you this first if you have an extra hand it will make the install alot easier because clocking the turbo for it to match up with the charge pipe will take some time, i have to take it off and put it back on for at least 5 try for each turbo but other then that it every easy to put on a turbo kit, the hellion instruction is pretty much dead on and if you dont get it give Jeff a call and he will walk you through the part that you not sure about

i agree with carbon..this isnt a simple bolt on a muffler kind of job...I would say it should require two people, a lift, good tools, and at least 2 days of work...just my opinion...then the tune,.,,,,,thats another thing, and highly risky without the a real tuner I feel. But I wish u the best

I did mine without a lift and it wasn't to fun but I did it. As for tools a drill press , air compressor , jack stands ,in lbs torque wrench and normal tools and a saw zaw. If you buy the gms kit I would order a 160deg thermostat too. And I didn't like the clamps, but they get the job done.
