Bluetooth Issues and Android Phone

I have Samsung Galaxy S running on Android 2.2. I recently started having issues with my phone not connecting to my 2010 Camaro 2SS/RS. It worked up till the past 3 weeks.

I took it to the dealership and was informed that there is a bulletin on it that states that there are certain phones that will now not work with Bluetooth. It seems that LG has done an update to something that is now affecting a large number of phones from connecting to the Bluetooth.

Does anyone have any information on this issue and when it will be corrected? The dealership also has to replace the USB plug on my car. Could this have any bearing on the issues with the Bluetooth?

My Galaxy S running 2.2 connects 99% of the time to any of my Bluetooth devices.

Apparently it's not just LG - I think it has something to do with the latest Android update. My HTC Incredible was working perfectly connected to the car via bluetooth until the day after I received the update last week. Now I can pair the phone, but it won't stay connected. Can't use bluetooth at all. It pisses me off - going to troll the droid forums to see if there is a remedy. Next phone will not be an Android if this BS continues.

I'm an android fan but honestly they work best when rooted and flashed with custom roms. The only stock rom I trust is the vanilla android. Whenever a carrier touches the UI it gets worse. If you feel daring, root your phone and install a custom rom (I suggest Cyanogenmod if your phone is supported). Otherwise, buy an iPhone and enjoy it's user-friendliness

I am also considering moving to iPhone. Love my Droid, but bluetooth is too important a feature for me to give it up for a klugey OS.
