Limited Production? 1 allocation per dealer? [CONFIRMATION REQUESTED]

Can we possibly have some people verify the rumor that this vehicle will get a limited allocation across Chevrolet dealers?

Not that I am any authority, but I don't see this happening.

Al Oppenheiser stated they will produce as many ZL1's as are ordered.

There "may be" a first run allocation to dealerships, but I'm sure once those vehicles are delivered GM will open up the ordering for whom ever wants one. But we won't find out for a few weeks, so anyones guess is good.

Please allow me to say, IMVHO, that any dealer that claims ZL1 is limited is a dealer you should NOT do business with. While I might understand an initial markup, and limited allocation, it's been my ultimate understanding GM intends on ZL1 being available to anyone. Now - please allow some flexibilty with my statement. I am not speaking for GM nor am I suggesting ZL1 is for a certain person, however, if you're a poor jerk like me, and you want ZL1 enough - you can probably make it happen. That's not to say everyone deserves ZL1 or is entitled to it (I am certainly not), but if you want it bad enough - like anything in our Country - anything is possible. I don't care if I can't manage the awesomeness that is ZL1, but as long as others more deserving, and harder working than I can achieve it - I will be happy.

CAMARO is and should be for about everyone, because it's not about excluding anyone.

Let's face it if a dealer throws out statements like "dealerships are only going to get limited car allocation" he is trying to scare people who desperately want a ZL1 in to paying a hefty premium over MSRP.... never believe a car salesman!!!

I'm sure GM will happily make as many as they can sell. On the other hand, my Chevy dealer has plenty of regular corvettes, a handful of Z06's, and one ZR1.

+1 do not buy from any dealer that tells you this. They are only telling you that so they can try to screw you with a markup.

ZL1 and idiot dealer

Hey all,

I went to my local dealer to ask them about the ZL1 and they proceeded to tell me that they had a modified hp package 2SS that would be $15000 dollars cheaper than the Zl1 and I could do a bunch of mods. The dealer actually said the the new ZL1 would be priced at $85000. I laughed and said there is no way they would put the ZL1 priced near the ZO6 Corvette. But he stands By his word!!!!!!!!
