cant figure it out

To start with I have an 2011 2LT with 2000 miles on it. When I first got it I was getting good gas mileage in town for the first few tanks (17 mpgs). Then it seemed to change overnight....... All the sudden it started getting 12 mpgs. The dealer can't find anything wrong and just told me that 12 was all I was going to get, but couldn't explain why it started out life getting 17.
Recently I discovered oil in the intake so I bought a oil catch can. I had a fuel induction service done to remove the oil from the intake and installed the catch can. Everything went smooth. I reset the gas mileage on the dic, and started home. I got 21 on the trip home! That tank of gas averaged out to get 18 total. The next tank averaged out to be 13.6. It seems to be going right back down again.
I started out as if the catch can was going to solve my problem, but now it doesnt seem so. I guess the increase back to normal was from the fuel induction service.......
Does anyone have any experience with something similar or any suggestions on what to look at or do?

Lots of stop/start driving can do this. Accompanied with pedal smashing.

When I drive in MD in my SS I get 18-20
When I drive in DE.. 13-14

I do the same drive everyday though, and drive the same way. I drive very easy on the gas trying to get the gas mileage up.

on a different note, where did you get the LSX badge? That looks awesome!

2000 miles, but like I said the first few tanks was ok then it went down hill. then when I did the induction service it was good for that tank then down hill again.

This is true. I set my cruise control to 70 on the highway (that's the speed limit here btw) and I got 24mpg. 2,400 miles or there abouts on mine.
