Would Appreciate some advice Guys - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

I did not do a preorder for an SS and now am trying to figure out if waiting till the end of the year or next year to buy one is the smart thing to do. With so much Govt. intervention going on how do you think all of this will affect the availabilty of the SS next year. I really want one and will really be pissed if they kill this car next year and I miss out.

What is your best estimate of what is going to happen. I hate to pay over sticker but would if I can get either a red or yellow SS equipped the way I want it. This SS will probably be the last sports car I will buy and I have been waiting for this new camaro a long time like all of you. Everything is pretty murky right now and I am getting a little antsy.

You should just put in an order for one right now for the car you want. Depending on the dealer it'll probably be the end of the year til you'd get it anyway.

Nobody can predict what the future holds for GM and/or it's products. As far as the performance era, today is what 1969 was. Tomorrow will be what 1974 was to the industry. I'm making my decision accordingly and buying now.

Lutz did say "get your ZR1 now". That, combined with the upcoming CAFE requirements and GM moving all the High Peformance engineers over to work on the economy cars are enough for me to see the writing on the wall.
