Just installed CAI...
So, like the title says, I just installed my cold air intake from CAI, and it sounds un-effin-believable. My only questions to everyone out there is, do you feel a slight hesitation when stepping into the throttle?? I know it wasn't there before I installed, and I know I have everything installed correctly (I was a mechanic for 10 years before moving to the other side of the desk). Any thoughts or suggestions?

it should have reduced that effect, but it could be the added power from the increased flow kicking in, rather than decreased power it is boost of power

Ive never owned a sports car, sports coupe or pony car or whatever you want to call it before the one I have now. You say it sounds amazing. Does it really change the sound? Just wondering bc I'm looking for some upgrades

Yes, it sounds awesome! It growls as soon as you get into the throttle. Definitely one of the first upgrades you should do.

I have cat back exhaust and it made the car deeper and sound alot meaner. A must have. Halltech or cold air inductions both make great intakes. I got the halltech and sct tuner with custom tune from Ted over at janyetty racing for 700 or so and it made a huge difference

That hesitation is what I have without the CAI. I also have a weak MAF, maybe you too? I would check into that. If it is weak, you just added a lot more air flow which could make it 'peak' and delay signal to your main computer, hence leaning out fuel, hence the hesitation.

I've heard if you do Cat-back or Axle-back first, you won't notice the change in sound as much, if at all.

I had a solo performance cat back for 6 months and I could tell a huge difference. The car sounded completly different at high rpm's. Really the sound my car was missing. Best mod so far. Cai and tune!

A custom tune from Ted over a jannetty racing. On a sct tuner. And with a tuner u can always go back to stock to take it in for warranty work. My dealership has never said a word. I put a tuner on everything I drive. Even left the box in the backseat once and the tech at the dealership said oops were gonna act like we didn't see that. U gotta keep in mind the dealership doesn't lose money on warranty work they still get paid. They only void warranty if they half too. Also my dealership will install any mod u want and keep ur warranty. They will tune also. For ppl with L99's they will tune out AFM. I know not all dealerships do this but I'm sure glad mine does.
