Gmconnects

Who has experienced problems with Gmconnects. Earlier I got a message saying my car was delivered. I got excited and called the dealer, to learn that it hasn't been delivered. Dealership closed for evening now and still hasn't been delivered.

Corporate Informed me that it was unloaded from the train and was waiting to get trucked to the dealership. But Gmconnects says it is still in route and being transported.

Then I got a few more email messages saying my status had changed. then when I checked it says still being transported.

Now it wont even display my vehicle information.

Anyone have similar experiences with Gmconnects. If ao do tell.

The site never worked correctly for me. My history was only partial information, and the few updates it actually did give me were days later after the status had already changed. In fact, from the time it went to 3400 status up until it was shipped at 4200 status, I received nothing in between.

Even now, if I enter my order number or email, the site shows a completely different car and VIN!

Funny enough, entering or tracking other peoples orders, it seemed to work fine.

Didnt let it get to me though... Becky was a much more reliable source of information anyhow.

I had the same problem with the entire different car and VIN too. I called dealership for rail car #, they acted dumb founded. If my car isn't delivered to me by Sat night, I am going to cancel and order through Becky. My service deserves the best treatment, just like anyone else's.

I should have done more research in deciding what dealership to go through. But then again I didn't know about this forum until a week ago.

If you are looking to get a 2SS 45TH coupe with no extra features, just have Becky search inventory. There have been 2 sold locally here already....although, both were automatics. Before I decided on a 2012, I was searching in a 500 mile radius of dealer inventory to find what I was looking for.

Might be quicker to find one on a lot ready to be sold rather than waiting another 8 weeks or so to do an order.

My GMConnects status has been stuck at 4150 since my car was built. It hasn't showed it bayed or getting stripes, which Becky said it got earlier in the week. Just stuck... First one I've seen to freeze on a status other than 4B00 after it's built.

My vehicle has shipped.

Awesome.....cause at this very moment its sitting 15 miles down the road from me being prepped to be picked up.

My Gmconnects has it listed as still shipping. But its actually sitting 85 miles from me in a distribution center.

Lol GM CONNECTS Went To status 5000 saying my car was at the dealership!!! it was sitting in my driveway for 2 days at that point...Dont worry it will get there!!! its all worth it!!

gmconnects shows that I am still at 4B00 but Becky just posted that it's actually on 4300 and probably getting stripes.

So looks like gmconnects has gone cuckooo...

gmconnects hypes you up and then drops the anvil on you. It says delivered but never there.

Could be wrong but I don't think GMConnect is actually ran by GM. I found this under the "About Us" radio button on the site.

"GMConnects was established by a group of car enthusiasts who decided to get together and help other car enthusiasts track their car through the order and delivery process. Along the way we have realized that this would also be beneficial to not only the customer, but also to GM and the Dealerships that support them. We have developed this site to be a one stop way for you to track your car from order to delivery."

I think that is correct. The GMConnects site is run by volunteers. I think it is a far better than not having anything. You can always go over to chevrolet.com and track your order there. It is the official GM site and you get almost no information, and is even slower in updating. I think we just need to be a little more tolerant of what we have, and give a lot of thanks to those who help us.
