Issues Reprogramming for PDIM
Bought the PDIM module from the link in the PDIM DIY. Seems as if it's an older version of the PDIM but I'm not sure this would cause an issue. Installed the PDIM pretty easily and have power to devices plugged into 9V, aux, and USB.
Asked dealer to do the programming for me. First try no go. Brought it back to try again and didn't work, suggest the radio needed to be replaced (under warranty). Brought it in and tried again with new radio - still not working, and my iTouch disappeared from the car to top it all off. They are suggesting the next step is to remove it and have them install it. They are pretty convinced the programming was done correctly. I, on the other hand, am pretty convinced they still have not programmed the car correctly. When plugging in a USB device (iTouch, Android phone, flash drive) I cannot see the device on the radio. There is only option for AUX Input (which doesn't work either). When pressing and holding menu/select, nothing shows up regarding HW/SW versions. Assuming they install themselves and don't get it working, they will probably suggest the part itself is defective and want to order/install from the dealer. Without being able to verify the programming was done correctly I'm afraid of going down this road with seemingly no end. Is there any way to definitively determine if they've done the programming correct from the start? The dealer seems to want to help me out and I've already paid the labor/fee for the reprogram. Service Director is going to ask questions today about the iPod (which they knew I was leaving in for them to test with). Unless I pay for another dealership to start at square one I'm pretty much stuck here, correct? Any thoughts? |

OK....there OBVIOUSLY something going on......I have to ask, did your car come with the USB part installed from the factory or was it an add on?
as everybody I know that had it in their car from the factory, that did the UPGRADE for the PDIM, its a simple P-N-P there is no programming to do. changed it out, started the car, and its done. possibly one of the connections is a little lose?? unplug each one of them and re plug them ensureing they are good and secure.

No, did not come from factory with the PDIM. I added myself based on the part number from the PDIM DIY. From what I understand this part number may be outdated but shouldn't cause issues should it?
I've torn this thing down 3-4 times now checking the wires at the plug ends. |
