interior in 1ss

As many know I'm in talks to upgrade to a 1SS but I have a stupid question and can't seem to find my answer!! I'm not wanting the RS package but does the 2011 and 2012 come with the flashy door panels and dash inserts without the RS package or is that part of it? I'm seeing both answers and I'm really wanting the 2 tone grey/black interior with the flashy door panels. I'm thinking that is only available with the RS package in both years?

well darn it....I was really wanting those panels :( I know I can buy them aftermarket as I already have a set picked out for my v6 but I dont really want to mess with the install of them. I hope upgrading to a v8 will be worth it!

There are a lot of differences 1SS to 2SS:

Heads up
Heated leather seats
4 pack guages
Ambient lighting
Plastic panels instead of fabric

I found the 1SS seats to be much less comfortable. That's a personal preference.

Regarding 2011 and 2012... The interior on the 2012 is pretty nice with the upgraded dash.

As far as the V6 to V8... It's a huge performance upgrade, ESP the increase in torque. Plus your mod options are unlimited really.

if you just bought an LT and now want an SS, it's highly probable you will buy an SS and soon want a 2SS.

Ok, if you feel a difference in comfort it's 100% completely in your head. Same exact seats and everything. Panels for
Many went worth the thousands of extra dollars or the cheap leather seats with vinyl on the side. IMO HUD is useless and a big distraction. Gauges can be added later cheaply and easily. If you didn't want to buy the panels you could rip the fabric off, sand it down and paint it any Colour. The 1ss is your better bargain, because you can add almost everything of the 2SS and still have spent less money. This way I still get the gauges, better seat cover quality and it will be completely custom, plus CAI plus Borla ATak for less he the upgrade to a 2SS

So the difference in feel of cloth versus leather is "100% completely in my head"... WOW... so everyone upgrading any car to leather seats is out of their mind and the difference is in their head? I beg to differ.

I test drove a 1LT RS A6 and ordered a 2SS RS M6 becuase it was better in every way.

The leather, 99.9% of cars with "leather" are vinyl. Real leather is VERY expensive and doesnt wear too well under constant use. Vinly is a fine alternative and the people who bitch about it must have nothing better to do than complain. Plus the leather seats are heated, not the cloth ones. I think the leather in the Camaro is on par with every vehicle I have owned/driven with leather except a couple exotics... which is to be expected. Sure the seats in the Ferrari I was in were better... I sure hope so.

HUD is not a distraction if you are tracking the car. It is there so you dont have to take your eyes off the road. Sure, its useless making the daily Starbucks run which is what most people use this car for but for those who actually "use" the car, its a great feature.

I agree, the guages can be added later easily.

Yes the 1SS is cheaper but to say its a better bagin is 100% completely in your head. Its a matter of opinion, why buy a 1SS and add all the stuff to make it a 2SS when you can just buy it that way???? Maybe you save a few bucks but my time is not worthless to do the work.
