New best track times

Finally! Got some runs in after the cam/clutch install, I ran a best 12.83 @ 113 w/2.04 60' last night on stock tires. This track is at 1300 ft (DA was 1995 at 65 degrees) this car is a beast to roll out off the line with stock tires....LOL! No excuses here I can't drive worth a crap... keep practicing! I think the new clutch is eating a bit of power also but its better than burning it up like the stock one. I tried different shift points, I was shifting at 6200 and tried 6600 with no change in MPH or ET. Overall I am happy with the times for now.

Congrats on the new best, but why is your MPH so slow... thats bolt-on MPH man! I can understand the ET with stock rubber but I would expect at lest 116+ even in your DA. I would practice driving more and see if that picks up, if not somthing is up!

I am concerned with that also. I do know that when DA corrected it comes out to 116 mph. I was running 109 - 110 mph before cam. There is a 525 RWHP procharged auto SS here that runs 11.70 @ 114! I am amazed that his mph is that low also. I am a manual car on stock tires so I have to roll out of the light gently at 2000 rpm or less so maybe I am not getting up to speed fast enough. I'll keep practicing. I see your altitude is at 600 ft there, Im at 1305 here + bad air most of the time! lol That run I made was at 1995 DA, nearly 50% humidity. I agree I need a driver mod too though. LOL

Ya around 600ft, but even at 3000ft in the summer I was trapping 112! IDK keep up the practice and see what happens, 11.70 @114 is pretty good, sounds like his car 60fts in the 1.6s but like you said MPH is slow for the power level.

In my figuring, I think that for your ET the MPH is about right. My numbers are for here in Michigan, not sure the dew point or any thing but it was around 90 that day and hot and humid. My best that day was the 12.11 @ 117 MPH so your times don't seem off.

Does anyone here think that with good tires, the mph will increase maybe 1 or 2 mph? Or am I being too optimistic? Lol according to a simple dragtimes calc - 4050 lb SS should trap 114.5 with the hp I have to the tire. Of course there are a lot of variables too in the real world.

ET and MPH are correct, whats not correct is MPH for the power he makes! How can I trap the same speed with 80 less hp in a 90 degree day at 3000ft! That does not make sence to me.
