to answer your questions, yes the foot wells can be tied in to the dimer switch, i do it all the time.
the afterburners are great, i had a set for my own car but sold them to a customer before i could put them in. but there great. i suggest making them the sole light in the tail light then have the bulb come on for the brake light. i think it looks trick but you can install anyway you think it looks good to you

so your saying, when you hit the brake, the whole light will then light up, or does only the upside down u light up? thats what i was wondering with the after burners.

The upside down U, for lack of a better description, is your running light. The brake light still functions normally. I have photos of them in my build thread if you're still curious.

Good luck with the 10k. You open a can of worms with those.

Enjoy the attention from law enforcement lol.

Anything more than 6500K, you're wasting your money and they're not legal for street use.

Above 6500K, you start losing field of vision at night and run the risk of being pulled over by Johnny Law.

I had 8K at one time and they were definately not as clear as the 6k I switched them for.

I'm now running true HID projectors (not just HID bulbs) and use 5k. They work fantastic IMO.

It's all in what you want. If you're looking for attention....well then 8K will get you that. They are noticable blue IMO and coming down the road anyone will be able to tell they are not OEM. Some people want that. If however you're looking to improve your lighting then 6k should be the max. You really need 4.5k - 5k to get good lighting.
