Tuned off my AFM, couldn't be happier!

Tuned out my afm last night & I couldn't be happier. I was absolutely miserable every time I felt it switch back & forth between 8 & 4. I was actually driving my wifes LS more than my own car but now thats over with.
Ten minutes of my time & the car is a joy to drive. The way is was meant to be. No more fu*king AFM!!! I know chevy made it like that to beat the gas guzzler tax & put a better avg. fuel economy on the sticker but if I wanted a 4 cylinder I would have bought one.

What will that do to your MPG? I wouldn't mind doing it myself but liking my 19 I'm getting now.

I tuned mine out over one year ago with a Diablo tuner and I'm still averaging 19 MPG around town.

Good friend of mine in my Camaro club has a 2010 2SS auto. He could not stand the AFM so he tuned it out and now says he is much happier with the car.

I used the Diablo Predator tuner, simple step by step took ten minutes.

I'm positive my mpg will suffer some but thats not a concern if it was I would have bought a 6 cylinder LS.

Your power train warranty is toast.
Funny, I've never felt the AFM- Never even with my Solo aftermarket exhaust.

How do you not feel it? It's an irritating drone, how does one miss that? Unless of course it's all highway driving. Must be driving like a real grandpa not to hear it. All 8 are pumping when I'm on the highway.

Because if he is using solo with J pipes there is no drone on the L99.

I've owned many Hemi vehicles that do this also and I could never tell when it was on or off. You guys must have super sensitive ears.

You hear it in the exhaust note on these cars. You can easily tell when it kicks on. It actually sounds better at low speed when it kicks on i think.

Better?

I'm holding off tuning out my AFM... It doesn't bother me enough to scrap my warranty. It is annoying, whether kicking on or off I can hear & feel it, but I would say if I handed my keys to the 'Average Joe', he wouldn't notice it unless I told him about it.

Yes better. Stock exhaust at low speed has pretty much about ZERO noise to be heard with windows up. At least when it kicks in you can hear it a bit. It's also a deeper note. By this i mean better. Every person who has ever heard it in my ride thought so as well.
