I was watching The Daily Show last night and I guess they pulled the Monday Night Football theme and videos because of what he said on Fox & Friends. Not that I really care about what he said, but my Mom was in town and I got her in as an extra and was an extra for a bit. I haven't even tried looking for her or myself. I usually get to photograph things like this but they had a very strict policy about who can do what. I am working on photos for the other ESPN College Gameday shoot with Cowboy Troy and Big & Rich. My Mom was there a lot longer and said Hank was really nice to everyone.

The whole controversy is so stupid. He did not call Obama Hitler...he compared Obama and Boehner, two political enemies as it were, playing golf together to being as likely a pairing as Hitler and Netanyahu. It is called an analogy people. Yes, he did call Obama and Biden his enemies - but that is his opinion...last I heard it was o.k. to have one of those. Oh well...the whole "are you ready for some football" thing was pretty played out anyway.

ESPN is owned by ABC.. use an analogy like that and your going to get canned... he was calling one of them Hilter...LOL saying Obama talking to/playing golf with Boehener is like Hitler talking to who ever that person was...yes thats calling one of them Hitler and it was an analogy but MNF is no place for your political views.. simple as that, and he knew that Im sure but just couldnt help himself from using a national stage for selfish purposes... STOOOPID

But I have to agree, the whole thing has been played out for years now and all they were doing is making the intro bigger and longer... to the point where I turned the game on after that stupid intro..

Congrats for your mom though, its pretty cool you were able to do that, stinks that Jr couldnt keep to the script and had to enter his lack of political intelligence into it and ruin it for her/you..

Freedom of speech has nothing to do with private companys or citizens its protection against persecution from the Gvt

He didn't make the comment on MNF, he made it on a news talk show...completely unrelated to football or music and with absolutely no affiliation to ESPN or ABC.

But, I guess the First Amendment doesn't mean what it used to anymore. If you're employed by ESPN/ABC, you can say whatever you want anywhere you want, but only as long as ESPN/ABC agree.

Edit: What's really funny is that Williams Jr. isn't even really employed by ESPN/ABC...

Even if he did say it on a another network or anything pubilc where it can get to americas media. He is representing MNF and Espn/ABC and whatever he says will might reflect their views cause he is kinda employed by them. Its like if nascar driver sponsered by Pepsi said that coke was better he would be dropped form sponsorship.

that is a horrible analogy. Hank didn't say anything about music, football, or any of the networks. He didn't go on that talk show to represent anyone but himself. If i were to go on a talk show, and say something controversial (that has nothing to do with my job or its competitors), i wouldn't get fired.

You are the first person that I've run into that really gets what Hank was trying to say. I can't believe that all these so call smart people in the media and government are too stupid to understand what he said. Hank did nothing wrong in my eyes.

While I agree with you 100%, there is a certain leaning in the media that is so pervasive that this is the outcome when you have that. Yes, I was purposely being vague.

I feel the same. Obama is the President and to compare him in anyway to Hitler is tasteless. I'm not a fan of Obama or Hitler, but I do love my country and would never want to my President mentioned in the same sentence as Hitler. Yes the Media is going to blow it out of proportion any some people will only believe what the are feed by media. Hey that's how our world is nowadays. It's sad but true.
