Questions about wider tires with lowering kits
So I've gotten to point where im ready for some new wheels and rubber on my car. For the wheels I'm wanting to do the tsw nurburgring 20x9.5 in the front and 20x10.5 in the back. Tires I wanna do nitto nt05s with 275s up front and 315s in the back. Now my first question is are the offsets of those wheels gonna work well with my camaro? Don't know too much about wheels so I'm needing a lil help on the subject. Next question is would I be able to lower my car (only about an inch or less) without any major issues? And if there are issues, like rubbing, is it possible to do mods to the car that'll decrease that? And just to sum up my driving style, I like to take corners and curves pretty hard if I have a chance. I've been looking up this stuff for about a week now and haven't found a definitive answer so anything helps.

TSW 10.5 +25 offset rears have the wrong offset for a Camaro, they will stick out too far. These were intended to fit the BMW's. The other is a +65 offset that tucks in too far. Most Camaro TSW owners choose the 10.0 +35 offset wheel, which even itself has a very aggressive offset and won't work with the 315 tire. Anything wider than a 295 on that wheel will have the tire sticking out the quarter panel.
If you want max width tires and perfect fitment, the Forgestar wheels are the cheapest alternative that are still lightweight. They also have custom offsets, which we spec out for exact fitment. Tony

Oops, you are correct. Typo
![]() +65 is what I meant, those are designed for C6 Corvettes. +25 offset rears is not enough. Those are more like BMW offsets.

I recently did 1 inch drop springs.. I was looking about going to 8.5 and 10.5.. what offset is recommended or is it a wheel by wheel basis?

Nah it wasnt you. My threads tend to kill themselves.
i just found a thread from speed depot that says theyre selling packages including: (2) 20x9.0 TSW Nurburgring (2) 20x10.0 TSW Nurburgring (2) 275/40/20 Nitto Invo (2) 315/35/20 Nitto Invo now i saw another thread of theirs that say thoses size wheels will tuck under the fender. I would still probably go with the NT05 tires if possible because i dont really mind the look of my tires sticking out a bit from the rim (however would this have any effect on performance?). Just thought i would mention that as a possible alternative to the 10.5's and 9.5's, and ask whether or not this would be reasonable to do? And once again would it work if my car was lowered?

I'll let you know after the Super Chevy show, I am going to try that combination for the autocross. I ran NT-05's on the rear and Invos on the front last time, didn't like the combo, so will go with the reverse next time, see how it works.
Nineball has wheel offsets and what fits wired, so if you're buying wheels/tires he is the guy to get them from...

This is the exact setup I'm looking for when I'm ready to replace my tires! Couple questions: Are offset adaptors required or will these wheels bolt directly on? Can you add an RJT pinstripe on the edge of the wheels?

What's the widest that you can go in the front? I want to do 19" with 295's in the front. Is that possible with a 1.4" drop? |
