Denver auto show, Camaro @ dealers May 6th
Went to the Denver show today, in addition to a 1SS Silver and a Red LT? I got a flyer saying that the new Camaro would be at 18 different dealers come May 6th!
My impressions of the car, the interior feels great to me! I only sat in the 1 SS that was there, but the seat really hugged me and that felt great! I'm 6' 2" and had plenty of room to move. The gauges are too cool to describe and seeing them on the internet DOES NOT do them justice! The radio and HVAC controls felt nice and precise in my hands. I did not feel up the dash panel because I don't care if it's wrapped in soft materials or not. The shifter felt good as well and there was way more leg room than I expected. The back seats are kind of a novelty item in my opinion. My 10 year old daughter was with me and she could barely fit back there without the seat being most of the way forward. The body is almost too good to describe. Again, pictures on a computer just don't cut it compared to seing it live. The shape, contour and lines all seem to fit perfectly. The trunk opening is as big as my 2001 Cavalier and actually much larger inside. The show people were polite and had pretty good info on the car. They stated that the 1SS will start at $34000 I'm not sure how that compares as I ordered a 2SS in Feb. and have not paid attention to the other models. Overall, this is one sexy car. One that either a guy or a girl would look good driving in. About the only complaint I overheard was about the engine cover. Most people loved the way it cleaned up the compartment, but a few thought it looked like "a hunk of plastic that is trying to hide something". I think it looks ok, but I prefer the look of the engine myself, just a personal preference. Here are a few pics and again, thanks for all the great info and people on this site, Marc Last edited by 95droptopZ; 04-03-2009 at 05:35 PM. |

Sounds about right to me. My dealer is having a Camaro event on May 8th which is right around when they are supposed to get their first models in. I believe the situation is that the models that are coming in are already sold but the buyers agreed to let them be shown at the dealer at that event (probably got a discount for it).

Looks like they put those cars front-and-center right inside the main entrance. Now there's a warm welcome!

Yep, right as you entered, you had the Mustangs on the right and Camaro's and Corvette's on the left. Damn this car looks good!

Looks like this older gentleman couldn't decide which one to go with. You got him next to the V6 and the V8. Then again, he was probably closer to the average age of those of us on Camaro5.com when the 1st gen was released.

Great job with the pics. It was too crowded when I was there to even get close to the car. Thanks for the pics and the review.

More Denver Auto Show Pics
Finally I get to sit in one. Being 6'2" with the seat down and all the way back fit nicely. I wanted to start it up and take it for a spin so bad. I sure appreciated getting a chance to speak with the Chevy rep, told him a wanted a clone Z28, lol. Anyway here are some of my pics when not so many people were around, enjoy!

Nice pics.
So that RPO sticker was on the trunk lid? Also that glow release is cool. Paint some eye's on it and it will look like an alien. |
