Question Ported Throttle Body for a V6?

Tell me about this mod. Do you have it? How much does it cost? How tough is it to do? What are the gains?

Yes, $150, if you can work a ratchet you can install this in 15 minutes, throttle response is noticeably quicker and smoother

The ported TB will run you about 365 shipped, but once you send your stock TB to them, you get the $200 core charge back. The install is super easy. Just take off the intake tube from the throttle body, and remove 4 bolts and one plug and you are done. Just do everything in reverse for the new TB. For your A6, you will notice your dead spot pretty much gone and throttle response to increase. You'll love it.

The dead spot is driving me NUTS at the track, that's why I want this! Good call. Who should I order from and what brand should I go with?

I believe the vmax is the only option. Again, pm SC2150.

Edit: you can get this painted as well for an extra $50

the dead spot is the lag in throttle response around 2k to 3k in rpms. prior to the install the car would lag be a bit sluggish, b=now the car pulls faster. I am sure so one else can explain it better but thats it in a nutshell

My dealer turns a blind eye to stuff like this. I can always take it off and put the old one back on.

Love mine. Provides nice torque gains in the 2000 to 5500 RPM range.

Many have been waiting to see if the throttle body can get any better with the trifecta tune. I did some data logging a couple weeks back while at the drag strip. I sent those into Vince and he has replied that all looks good with my current set-up. There was nothing to tweak.

So, for any who were thinking that maybe a tune is required or helps the TB, it is not required and all is fine.
