More Top Issues - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

As many of you know I took delivery of my 2012 1SS Vert on 8/4. By 9/29 I had my original top replaced due to rubbing and pinching. In those original 6 weeks I also had my passenger rear window regulator replaced.
Today the car went back in for the left rear window regulator, leaking brake reservoir, rub marks on the new top, the cup that holds the top handle in broke on the first install and the part finally came in, and the rear window trim is loose and rising up. The service adviser told me he talked to Chevy right after I talked to them yesterday. They asked how it was going and he flat out told them that the top is wearing again after 10 days. She was speechless. He also told them it would be easier to replace the car then fix all the problems I have been having. My installer followed the book to a T and did all the TSB's also. He did tell her I am at least being calm about it, which I am. This whole process is really getting the best of me. At least I am going to put it away for the winter and hope a fix happens in the next 7 months. My wife said just trade or sell it and get something else. At least she is putting up with me. I just want my Camaro to be right like a 40 thousand dollar car should. Enough of my ranting and venting. There are others worse off than me and I am thankful that I can have this car problems and all.

Sorry for all your troubles. I have some rub marks on my top, but so far I'm just living with them since there's nothing structurally wrong with it.

But, if you're going to end up selling or trading it, for heaven's sake do it now, rather than paying car payments and/or letting the car depreciate for the next 7 months.

I'm not going to sell nor trade it. Plus no payments as it is paid in full. I want my problems fixed to my satisfaction. This top should of lasted years not 6 weeks. And by all means if you have issues with the top bring it in and get it documented. You do not have to get it fixed now. This is the only way Chevrolet knows there is an issue with them.

wow, you would think it would have been "fixed" for 2012's out of the factory.

The poll I did had 4 2012 responses and all 4 had issues already. So sad. I love my car but with all the issues I have had it is getting a little trying on the patience
