Had a weird speaker problem last night.

Had an bizarre speaker problem yesterday, my front passengers main speaker sounded distorted at low volumes but was perfectly fine with higher volumes. Now I have some experience with car audio and it didn't sound like a blown speaker, rather as if there was a short.

So has any one else had an issue like this? Any suggestions to fix the problem if it re-occurs? Any warranty for the speakers?

YES, finally someone else... I had the exact same issue and it took quite a while for me to get it to make the odd sound in front of a tech because every time i took it in they let it sit for a while.. What i found was for whatever reason, after i played it at a volume of 20 or above for about 20 min or more, the speakers or whatever the guilty party was would "warm up" so to speak and start making the defective sound when turned down lower, say below 15. After a while, i have a very nice service department and they let me set an appointment up where i played it long enough to make it sound bad, drive it in and have someone immediately listen to it. Once they heard it, they had no problem replacing the guilty speakers. One quick note - make sure you are not using an MP3 player when you demo. Use only XM, or a purchased CD. I tried the MP3 thing and the tech suggested that it could be the file and had to hear it on the other sources.
