I have seen posts mentioning clay bars as part of cleaning a car. What is the purpose of a clay bar and how do you use the bar?

According to my local dealer, I have acid rain sitting on top of the clear coat. They suggested having the car detailed to remove the problem.

it's an easy process, wash, clay, wash, polish, wax . I think that's it, that's what I did.
Do a search for clay bar. I think Adams should have a video here or at there sight.
Don't forget the chips

the clay bar process is basicall spray liquid on the car and rub clay over it. It is supposed to pick up any contaminents that have gripped onto your paint, such as tree sap, bird droppings, dirty air, etc. its easy to do. You might be intimidated at it at first when you touch the sticky clay, but the liquid you spray onto your car makes it slippery. After about 30 seconds you will see how simple it is.

I clay my last month and I could see and feel the difference it it... I am planning to clay it again.

If you cant feel it in the paint then clay bar will do nothing. Clay bar has its purpose but is used why to much IMHO.

Take plastic bag put ur hand in it and lightly go across paint if rough or gritty CLAY
