washing / detailing time

So today i spent a solid 8 hours washing and clay barring my camaro. I also vacuumed and detailed the interior. I'm about half way done. Tomorrow is part 2 which includes polishing and waxing. My question is, is this normal? A two day process to throughly wash/detailing the camaro? Or is there a more time efficient method. Any input is much appreciated it.

I spend about 4 hours on a normal wash, no wax, no interior, no nothing special.

*PHEW*! I thought i was doing something wrong. I get funny looks from my neighbors like they think i'm on meth or something. They leave for work and i'm washing my car, they get back and i'm still at it. Not to mention i wash it weekly so it's never really that dirty.

Haha. I wash mine religiously once a week too lol. Tomorrow i get to wash her up good. My parents think and sister think i'm absolutely bonkers because i spend so much time with my car. I have never waxed it though. I don't know how.
What time you waxing your car tomorrow? I'd like to come watch and take notes if that's alright! lol

That's the thing, i haven't waxed a car in YEARS!! Last time was probably when i was 16 (i'm now 23), when i helped my dad. Haven't had a car that i cared enough to wax it until this one. But i've searched the forum and watched videos for tips. i'm sure we can figure this out together lol.

Welp, from the advise i got from the forum was washing the car with actual car shampoo NOT dish washing soap, microfiber towels to decrease the risk of getting scratches. I believe either warm or cold water works fine, i prefer cold.

Most of my free time goes to my car. This car is my life now, the gf hates it.
