DISK BRAKES !!! NEED HELP

I detailed my rims yesterday with this alloy rim detailer from maguires, and today i look at my disk brakes and they have turned this yellow brown color. almost looks like rusting... WHAT SHOULD I DO? and should i be worried. it has to be from that spray.

Just a thin layer. Drive your car around the block and you'll be good to go!

Just go drive it and it will go away and wont hurt anything. This happens after you wash your car too or if its real humid outside.

Just as a side note, all of the factory wheels are clear coated. There is no need to use wheel cleaner designed for alloy wheels. Just wash them off with soap and water.

You could spend hours scrubbing the wheels, but it so much easier just to drive around the block and let the brake pads do the work.

BTW - it has very little to do with the cleaner... they will get surface rust like that anytime they get wet, but it'll be gone as soon as you get moving and hit the brakes.

Iron rusts when reacting with oxygen, the oxygen in water makes this happen, the more surface area you have the more rust you will get and the faster it will happen. There are millions of little pieces and ridges and grooves in and on your pads that makes for a lot of surface area to have this happen, so it happens fast, but it would happen if you parked your car outside for a week and didnt drive it, just the moisture in the air would make em rust. But they all do it on the actual braking surface
