Hey guys I wanted to know which method you guys feel is best when getting behind the wheel of a manual car you've never driven before.
Did you use the 1) "No gas method" where you simply release the clutch as slowly as possible until the car starts to roll, or 2) feed the car a little throttle while simultaneously rolling off the clutch until it bites? Thanks, Danny. |

Depends if it's ur car...if ur driving a friends car home who said he wouldn't drink and u ended up driving it back then full throttle and slowly let the clutch out...if it's ur car then just feel it out with a little gas
and you'll get it in no time Sent from my iPhizzzone using Tapatalk

No, it's my car. I'm trading my L99 for an LS3. Thankfully my friends are letting me practice with their cars. I've driven them before, but I've been told to use the no gas method. I hated that, it's too time consuming.
Instead another method was to hold mild revs and roll off the clutch, then once you feel the car start to move, hold the clutch there and then roll off slowly. |

Lol, as much as I'd be pissed at my friend, I wouldnt want to burn his clutch THAT bad. Maybe, just a little wheel spin.

That's the method I've been teaching my kids. I've got four boys that have driven my car. Two have driven stick before, the others have not. They seemed to pick it up pretty well.
