K40 Radar Detector Reviews? Input?

I'm looking to buy a radar detector , specifically the K40 RL100 Portable Radar Detector. Anyone have any input on how reliable the RL100 detector is? I've looked up and seen pretty good reviews and even videos on youtube, and plus they say that they will pay your speeding ticket if you get one... Can't go wrong with that can yah?

Add their (or someone's) active laser jammer, and you'll be pretty good to go.

GOTTA be able to jam lasers, though; detecting them usually just gives you time to start looking for your license and registration. lol

I have been using the K40 radar detectors for the past 10 years or so and have had no problems or complaints. They have always worked for me. Just like any detector, they only work if you use them wisely and respond to the alerts in time. In my experience with the K40, it is very sensitive to all bands and lets you know ahead of time what's in the area. Although it is almost impossible to avoid instant on radar, I have been targeted many times and still had time to reduce my speed and avoid being pulled over.
I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for a quality radar detector. From the posts that I have read on here though, it seems most people prefer Valentine 1 or Passport. I will stick with my K40. If If cost wasn't a factor, I would upgrade to the Calibre system. Good luck with your choice.

Yea the cost of the RL100 is the most I really want to spend.. Fair price and seems to be good quality, but the Rl360's etc are very expensive.

If I can at least detect from a quite aways I'll have time to slow down and be good, but I feel as if I had a jammer too it'd be suspicious to the cop who is trying so hard to capture my speed even though it is legal in my state. Mhmmm don't know what to do LOL
