Got My Build Week...
This will probably make me the most unpopular newbie on the forum, but I received a call from my dealer yesterday afternoon. He told me my order had been okayed for production and that my Camaro is set to be built the week of April 27.
Back at the beginning of February, I ordered a Cyber Grey Metallic 2LT/RS with an automatic transmission, power sunroof and a black interior. My dealer, Humberview Chevrolet, is in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Best as I can tell, my order was number six out of a seven Camaro allocation to the dealer. I can tell you for sure that my contact at the dealership confirmed what 2SSJIM said about the delays due to quality control inspections, though. Hopefully my post will help you guys figure out what going on with these V6, CGM, and general Canadian constraints I've been reading about so you can get a better idea of what's happening with your own cars. I'm really excited about being able to drive my car soon. Please don't hate me.

CGM SS2 order
I had to place my order yesterday (April 9) for my baby. So when do I get it? May? June? whenever they want? This is a mystery to me from the beginning! Give us our cars, now.

lucky you didnt order a 6-speed, that delayed me 2 weeks and another member 5 weeks!
Good to see another member from Toronto, sevreral of us will have our cars within a week or so of eachother, a meet-up should be in the works! |

OK, I have to ask. Was your order just submitted yesterday for production? If so, that should have put it in the May 4th week of production. I only know because mine was just submitted yesterday (4/9). Does that mean mine will be built a week earlier too?
Or, was yours submitted last week, and it took a week to get the TPW info? |

CGM SS2 order
My workbench order was done on Thursday, April 9. It does not have a estimated delivery date. It says "age of order 122 days) I guess this is calculated based on when I initially "pre-ordered" in December 2008. How long does it take them to assemble the car? Thanks!

i pre-ordered on the first day. It doesnt affect your TPW at all.
Some people get TPWs, some people dont. TPWs also change, mine was accepted in March for an April 20 build, but got pshed to May 4th. By my guess, they will be ramped up by then because there are LOTS of people with a May 4th TPW. Im just hoping that there arent any more delays! |

i meant the 6-speed manual, we normally just say 6-speed to indicate the manual vs auto

I called today to cancel my stripes and got a TPW instead!!!
I guess I'm getting stripes after all!!!!! TPW 5/10/09 ordered 10/16/2008
