Need tire advice

I have 2012 45th anniversary vert, with stock 20 p-zero tires.
Need advice on best choice of all season/winter tires.
Do I replace wheels and tires with 17's or just replace p-zero with different 20in
Tires?
Thanks in advance

i think a 19 inch wheel is the smallest that will fit on the 45th 2ss. vert. because of the brake calipers. see tire rack.com

I also have a '12 45th vert and I just got a new set of 20" wheels and snow tires from Tirerack.com. Tire Rack recommends dropping down a wheel size and get 19" but I went with 20". I got 245/45/20s all around. There is a thread on here from Rudy at Tire Rack. He can help you out. His email is rudy@tirerack.com. I'll take some pictures of mine tomorrow and post them here.

Take a look at Continental Extreme Contact DWS all season at Discount Tire. They come in a matching staggered 20" set and are rated very highly. Here is the link: http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/fin...Form&rc=TNWINT

Here is my winter wheel/tire setup just in case I get caught in a storm. Fortunately there are more drop top days in winter then there are snow days in Denver, but the winter tires add grip in the low temps as well.

Since mine is a 2LT, do I still need to worry about Brake Caliper issue? I am working with rudy, and we plan on going with the Pirelli Scorpions SNOW and ICE with 17" wheels

I just went with the Continental Extreme Contact DWS all season tires. I read on this forum several times that these tires really had good traction. I was not happy with my NTO5s on the street. They were a summer tire and pretty slick in the rain. I could easily get 40 ft of rubber in second gear. I pulled the trigger on these new tires and am quite pleased. They are great in the rain. I finally feel safe. They are very sticky on the dry roads. Now I get about 10 ft in second gear. The others were more fun with all the wheel spin but I wanted sticky and safe. Don't know how they do in the snow and probably won't find out. I keep it in the garage when the roads become snowy/salty. I feel they would be a great year round tire. They ride softer than my other tires also even with more air pressure.

Check these out! Got these in 19". I put on a set of Pirelli zero nero all seasons. I just want a little bit for the colder weather. don't plan on doing snow driving. Should be better than summer tires. Free shipping. Currently $1380 for the set. $100 instant saving.

Camaro SS Vert - Seattle - Continental Extreme Contact DWS

I am running Continental Extreme Contact DWS all season tires on my Camaro SS Vert in Seattle. Its my daily driver and these tires are quite happy on wet roads (it rains here a bit) and they got me home from the airport in the last snowstorm when smarter people than I stayed home. Had a set on my prior car (BMW 335i) as well. They perform well enough that I may just leave them on year-round. Not cheap, but they do work.

Recommended.

Wow - from Scottsdale, snow....ugh.

Actually, I didn't even think the Camaro could handle snow - not with 7" and 8" tires. Can it really?

winter tires?? Forgive my ignorance on this because we dont get much snow, but why would you change your tires based on weather? Its not a 4 wheel drive, or an all terrain vehicle....why would this matter?

I have driven my 1970 camaro with 650 hp, true posi rear on biased ply tires in ice and snow, so I guess I dont quite understand changing the tires based on weather, and if it is that bad of weather, why are you driving the camaro to begin with? The closest comparison I have is monsoon type rain, if it rains like that I drive my truck....

Being from New England you have two choices, winter beater or winter tires. P zeros have to be one of the worst tires in freezing weather or any snow more than 1". There is just no traction. The rubber gets extremely hard and offers no traction even on clean pavement in freezing temps.
