50,000 miles+
Wanted to see if anyone here had 50,000 miles+ on their 5th gen Camaro?
Friend of mine said that they are good cars but some start to fall apart around 50,000k+ Any thoughts? Thanks |

lol that could be said for any vehicle in the world.
How you treat your vehicle will usually reflect how your vehicle treats you.

Alot of members here have garage queens that will never see 50K...what a waste of a great car. It's a Chevy and I doubt it will fall apart at 50K. My 2000 Silverado will be 200K pretty soon....Tires and brakes was pretty much it except for some minor front end work last year. My SS has 17K and is broke in enough to be smooth as silk and great to drive. Drive it and enjoy

I have 25,497 goes down for a long winters nap in late November or as soon as the salt hits the roads. Then comes back out when the rain washes away the salt in the spring. My winter car is a 2006 Monte Carlo.

To date LS based engines/vehicles are going 200-300k plus miles with no major issues (as long as maintained and good syn oil used) so I see no reason these wont continue. And since they are only 2 years old not many w/over 50k miles to judge them yet.....

If any of them cars start to fall apart at 50k then something is wrong with the owner not the car.

agreed, its all in how you maintain your car. I have a 98 jimmy with 180k (we bought it with 100 miles on it brand new) it has had every service at 3k and everything done at the dealer. there were a few major issues auto 4wd motor at 90k and the trans (due to a leaking trans line which left no marks) at 110k. the rear went at 178k, lot of miles on an original rear axel. the motor is perfect, small rear main leak but no knock or taps, almost runs better than my camaro!
i have total faith i will get close to 200k with my camaro, it will take about 20 years but ill do it.
