difference between a 2011 and a 2012 camaro convertible

Hey all,

I was going to wait until April of 2012 to buy my 45 anniv edition convertible, but I went to look online and saw the current special of 0% Apr for 72 months for a 2011 convertible (obviously not 45th anniversary edition).......

Now I am conflicted. Can anyone tell me the differences between the two model years, aside from the 2012 being the 45th anniversary and carbon flash metallic color.....

I had wanted (before settling on waiting for the 45th anniversary edition) the 2011 convertible, RS package, 2SS, black. But, I want to know what the differences are between the 11 and 12 years......

Help please, and fast!

Instrument cluster (different font), steering wheel is different, dash (leather section vs plastic), rear camera (fantastic). Some other things are standard now, but if you were looking at the 2SS/RS you would have gotten them anyway. The suspension changes (FE4) are in the coupe only.

0% for 72 months for a 2011 now versus a possible 4-6% for 60 months in April for a 2012.........

the 12's also have the power 6 way adjustable passenger seat. slight differences in the radio display, fan speed etc is displayed when changes are made, the 45th edition seats are nor perforated as in the coupe, not sure is all verts are or not a few other minor changes, mostly cosmetic

The differences, other than the rear view camera, must be fairly minor. I test drove a 2012 manual and a 2011 automatic back to back last week and the only thing I noticed was the camera, which I love. They were both 2SS/RS and the same color. I thought the camera was an option and didn't realize they were different years.

Oh yeah, forgot that. I (almost) never occupy that seat so I don't really think about it.

stereo now shows controls for air conditioning when selecting as well. Not sure if verts have it, but also body color antenna for onstar/ xm.

I don't normally occupy that seat either, it was however a big topic of dissusion when the 5th gen camaros were released on the market. GM listened and did make that change a lot of complaints from passangers not being able to see over the dash, I personally do like also the leather insert on the dash, it was a bit plain, and ............. (GM if your listening), would like to see the ambient lighting on the doors continued across the dash from the factory

2012 interior is more refined. As people mentioned, nicer gauge cluster, the power passenger seat, nicer dashboard, *cough* steering wheel *cough* (which I happen to like), backup camera is awesome. Still no lit vanity mirrors though...

Id still go for the 11' if I were to do it all over again... I love the custom "Camaro" steering wheel vs the generic GM model... back up camera is a nice touch tho

Plus we get the custom rub/wear marks on our tops!

+1 for the ambient lighting

anyone thought about having badging on the passanger side like the 3rd gens?
Ie red "SS" for the ss/rs
silver "SS" for non rs
red "RS" for LT's with Rs package
plain for non RS
that would also help to break up the dashboard abit.

Can't say I knew all of the differences but u Fokes sure have made me feel happy I custom ordered a 2012 thanks.

For the OP it all comes down to the money, r u willing to spend alittle more for the changes/must have 45 anna or is big savings more interesting? If it is just a special package u r looking for try to find a synergy Edition 2011.

They continued that option for 2012 models as well as adding the exploding 5th bow "feature"....
