CGM to 3000

Called my dealer this morning and he verified my CGM is now at 3000 (Order Accepted by Production Control). I'm excited, not necessarily because the color was on constraint, but my car is actually getting ready to be made regardless : )

I hope I receive the same news over the next couple of days. Congrats!

What do you guys think? Do you think GM really makes them as they get them, or do you think they're just cranking them out and then when they pull your order do you think they look at all the lot cars they've already made and just assign it to you because it meets your order criteria?

Well, I actually ordered on 3/12/09..a few days shy of the early order cutoff date which I believe was 3/15.

I got the impression from forum posts that your place in line at the dealership had more to do with when the car gets built than the date ordered. I had kinda a weird situation in which a new dealership had opened up outside of Houston. Eric, from Classic Grapevine, handed me over to them knowing they had cars available due to them just opening up.

I think I was third in line overall at the dealership.

I think that would be a bad move due to the almost infinite number of order possibilities. I do believe they are pulling them in the correct order across all dealerships and building them to spec.

I spoke with my dealer yesterday, who is still an idiot by the way, and I am at 3400, I am so Happy! The reason I say my dealer is an idiot is because he still says he can't give me a TPW because "GM is not releasing that data" , apparently only to him. I am at 3400, I think that means my order has been brodcast for production so I am thinking I am in my Target Production Week or very close to it???
I will be so happy to drive my car away from this dealership to never return again. I am sure there are other dealers in my area that will provide great service for my CGM Camaro!

LOL..no welcome kit here. I know 3000 is not really that big a deal, but sitting at 1100 forever makes it seem so.

I could tell Camaro Scotty was the man after being a forum member for just 2 days. Went straight to him and he hooked me up with Eric. He really is the real deal. Was a great guy on the phone, and seemed to be mostly an enthusiast like the rest of us. Thanks Scott

I'm more interested in when your order went to 2000... did it get pulled last week?

I went on vacation last week and hadn't checked with the dealer much before that. With the paint on constraint, I really didnt care to bother him too much. I only checked this morning because of the newest pics posted of the 'other' cgm non-tagurit car : )

It was within the past 2 weeks..thats about as specific as I can get. I'm not sure if the dealer can pull the order and see when it actually converted from 2000...anyone know? If so, I'll ring him up.
